Changed my life to drop off clothes to have cleaned and folded. My apartment charges $50/month extra for washer & dryer. Rather have the money go to Joseph (he is fantastic). After three weeks I realized I was saving money because many items I was dry cleaning were just as good being laundered and the folded right after drying.

The prices I posted are no longer valid. Small dryers were raised to 35c per cycle, and all other machines went up accordingly. And, by mentioning I use Tropicana "off peak" is by getting in before 10 am during the week and for your sanity DO NOT COME ON A FEDERAL HOLIDAY. Families with their entire brood flock in on holidays, making parking impossible, and crowding up the entire store while people steal your seat every time you change your washes out, if you were fortunate to get a seat to begin with. I wish they would open up the bathroom, but if you're confident no one will steal your clothes, I've left to Safeway. I get it the public filths up your bathroom, steals your toilet paper, and one laundromat I used near Phoenix before I moved here, someone shot up drugs in the bathroom.

Pretty much as good as you can expect from a laundromat. It's clean, there are lots of machines, and there are TVs to keep you entertained as you wait. A good choice for travelers in the Silver Spring area if your hotel doesn't have a laundry room.
They have a variety of machine sizes, including small (~$3.50), medium (~$4.50), large (~$5.50), and at least one jumbo machine (~$10.50). The medium and small cycle times were just under 30 minutes. Drying costs $0.35 per 7 minutes in the regular dryers, and my medium load dried in just over 30 minutes.
It's convenient to pay as they use a card system for all the machines. It costs $1 for a card, and you can reload with cash or a credit card (credit card loads are only in $10 increments). There's an ATM on site if you absolutely need cash. It's conveniently located on the south side of Silver Spring, about a 10 minute walk from downtown.
The staff were friendly and there were a few large TVs to keep you entertained while you wait. They sell smaller soaps, bleach, etc. for about $5 each (IIRC), but it's cheaper to bring your own, even if you have to buy at an inflated price (e.g. Rite Aid). There are a few seats at the front, but if it were busy these would fill up fast. -

Joseph is the best.... very nice and customer centered. Love dropping my clothes off or doing them myself. Extremely clean environment ... i drive all the way from downtown DC to this laundromat.

I came to wash five comforters. Here on a Friday night and it's not crowded. Reasonably clean, lots of machines and well lit at night. Parking can be a little tight, but not horrible. I would return.
